Introduction Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty procedures help improve size, shape & appearance of Vagina. With ageing or with vaginal childbirth (often called normal delivery), vaginal muscles become weak. Using Vaginoplasty, your surgeon tightens up the weak muscles bringing back earlier firmness of vagina. Vaginoplasty is also surgery of creating neovagina in cases of vaginal atresia. Ageing and gravity (or at times genetics) can cause changes to both inner lips of vagina (called Labia Minor) as well as outer lips of vagina (called Labia major). The changes include outer vaginal lips being asymmetric, sagging or inner lips extending beyond outer lips. Such conditions not only cause intimacy issues but also pain & irritation while exercising, running etc. Some women find it embarrassing to wear tight clothes such as swimming suits, Yoga wear etc. Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure used to improve shape and size of vaginal lips. Labiaplasty can also correct darker areas of labial skin to make it smooth.
Operation Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty procedures are highly individualized surgeries and typically last 1 to 2 hours. These can be done using local as well as general anesthesia. Whilst there are numerous techniques used to improve shape and size of vagina, a typical procedure will involve taking incisions to remove sagging skin, excess tissues and tightening of muscles to achieve more natural looking vagina. If inner lips of vagina extend beyond outer lips, your surgeon will cut back inner lips to tuck them nicely inside outer labia.
